News: Songwriter phinx releases debutalbum
Songwriter phinx (Vincent Beijer, Utrecht, Holland) was a bar and restaurant pianist from a young age. He travelled the world for a few years, but found a place back behind the piano and started writing songs. He has won three major Dutch prizes, the Mooie Noten, the Geheim van Utrecht and the best musican award in the Grote Prijs van Nederland competition.
In his small home studio, phinx took his time to translate his energetic live repertoire onto a cd format. The result – ‘Good times ragtimes’, his debut album.
In the live circuit, phinx, solo or with a combo presents a lively and original mixture of jazz, pop, ragtime and sou. In the studio he turns into a sound-bug with a love for old equipment. Live as well as on cd, phinx is a fresh experience.
