The free entry party on London’s famous square, which officially starts at midday and continues to 8pm, will give revellers a chance to enjoy a day of music, food & drink and a healthy dose of culture for all the family.  All day long visitors will be treated to live music from a selection of great Dutch bands including Go Back to the Zoo, Postman, Zuco 103 and festival headliners DI-RECT. In between sets, DJs will keep the crowd happy and with a kids’ corner dedicated to keeping the younger children entertained and plenty of other distractions, including competitions, clog making, an authentic Dutch market and free short tours of the National Gallery’s fabulous collection of Dutch paintings at 4pm and 5pm, there will be something for everybody.

It wouldn’t be Dutch without a bike theme and together with Transport for London and Evans Cycles there will be a chance for visitors to win bikes and accessories worth up to £2500, get safety tips, take on the cycle challenge and learn more about London’s new Cycle Hire Scheme

Never seen before on Trafalgar Square!
Don’t miss some spectacular pole vaulting by the best of both Dutch and British athletes who will be soaring 16 feet above your heads on the North Terrace of the square.
With the origins of the modern day sport firmly in Holland, where traditional poles were used as a practical means of passing over natural obstacles in marshy areas such as the province of Friesland, the country has also produced in Rens Blom a World Champion.  Rens, who now acts as an ambassador of the sport and in particular the province of Limburg, will together with other Dutch and British athletes be demonstrating how to vault 16 feet and more, a full 2 years before the Olympics take place in London.
