News: SIMIN ft. Eric Vloeimans @ Jazz Ahead
The voice of the German-Afghan singer Simin Tander invites her listeners to dip into stories full of Oriental mysticism and emotionality without necessarily having to rely on words. Tander – a singer who is Dutch by choice – combines free improvisations with singer songwriter elements.
With her band SIMIN she unites meditative lyricism with wild expressionism in an intense, powerful interplay. SIMIN performs at Jazz Ahead.
Tander recently started working with the well-known trumpet player Eric Vloeimans, from the north of Holland. Vloeimans will also be appearing as a special guest in the Late Night Programme at Jazz Ahead.
In Germany the name Simin Tander is perhaps still not known to everybody but despite that a lot of people have already heard her – for example in the TV crime series 'Tatort / In eigener Sache'.
