Wouter Hamel’s single One More Time On The Merry-Go-Round has entered the Tokyo Hot-100, with a massive move to number 30, after entering the list at number 65. His track is now in the same league as Jason Mraz, Coldplay and U2, all included in the list. Meanwhile in Japan, the new video for One More Time On The Merry-Go-Round will be launched on high rotation playlist on Music On TV.
Hamel's new album Nobody’s Tune has just been released in Japan, and is about to enter its album charts. Released in May, Wouter Hamel and his band will tour Japan and Korea to perform songs from the new album. Wouter will also be performing at the Seoul Jazz Festival on May 16. After that, Wouter and friends will do eight shows for the Billboard Live Tour in Tokyo and Osaka.
Hamel has played Japan several times before, and he is not the only Dutch artist who can depend on Asian support and interest - Dutch collective Room Eleven and Dutch singers Giovanca and Trijntje Oosterhuis recently performed in Japan.
