Dutch reggae-artist Ziggi is the first non-Jamaican act to have signed a contract with the legendary Jamaican VP/Greensleeves label. Ziggi: “VP has just taken over Greensleeves. Greensleeves is based in Europe, so they’re focusing on the continent. Lately the band and me are doing very well in the reggaescene, so it was logical that they contacted me.” Ziggi remains under contract of independent label Rock ‘N Vibes. His second album In Transit will be released on September 22. “VP will do the international distribution, marketing and some promotion for the album. I am very happy with it, they have a lot of experience in the world of reggae. They can make it big”, Ziggi explains. The British label Greensleeves was founded in 1975 and is known for it’s vast catalogue of many classical reggae- and dancehall-albums, including those of Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Shabba Ranks and Gregory Isaacs.
