Singer / Pianist VanVelzen (1978) is a Dutch musician, and Hollands latest sensation! His suprisingly undutch album contains 12 songs, both rock and pop. With his striking appearance and his strong voice there is nothing you can do but listen, VanVelzen is a born performer.
His first album, Unwind, hits the number one position on release in march 2007. And less than a year later it won a Gold Record for more than 30.000 sold albums.
The preceding two hit singles, Baby Get Higher and Burn both went straight into the Top 10. His third and fourth single, Deep and Shine a little Light got loads of attention and airplay. VanVelzens fifth single, When Summer Ends, was an instant hit. It is the title song to the successful movie Zomerhitte (or Summerheat).
After his début in September 2006 VanVelzen already won three awards. The 3FM Awards for Best New Ac’ and Most Played Single (Baby Get Higher). And Unwind was voted Best Album by Dutch viewers of music television channel TMF.
VanVelzen (and band) proved himself a heavyweight liveact thanks to his enthusiastic performance and stunning presentation all over the country. VanVelzens onstage act even got rewarded with the 3FM Award for Best Liveact 2008!
Between gigs such as supporting Kelly Clarkson, super stars Bon Jovi and a helicopter tour on Liberation Day, VanVelzen is working on new songs for his second album. After its release at the end of the year not only the Dutch will shout: “VanVelzen!”, but you will as well!
